240Hz MONKEY KING or 60Hz JOSEPH?

QUESTION: Will I see noticeably worse performance with the Monkey King than the Joseph if used closer than 32″ from a monitor?

ANSWER: If your sim is running at 150fps, it will not be affected by head tracking at 60fps. 60Hz indicates how many times per second your head position is being tracked and does not affect the game’s framerate.

The 60Hz Joseph II sensor is optimized for sim pilots and drivers who sit close to their monitor, but want to enjoy all the range of motion that 240Hz sensor users enjoy that use wheels, yokes, sticks and/or sim cockpits.

Both the 240Hz Monkey King and 60Hz Joseph sensor is optimized for natural head movement for sim drivers and pilots up to and beyond the 48″ limitation of other tracking systems.

Choose the 60Hz Joseph if you sit closer than 32″. Sitting closer than 32” with the 240Hz Monkey King sensor may lose tracking when you lean in to look at your gauges, get up on the gun sight, or look down at the floor gauges. Your head and tracker may move out of the view window of the sensor and interrupt tracking.

Monkey King specs:

240Hz sensor means tracking speeds up to 230fps
14ms latency means no lag
1.5m/5ft usb cable is 50% more cable than our previous sensor
60 degree field of view is wider than any IR sensor available
Glass IR pass filter can see your tracker but not you, for your privacy
Use any AA battery, including normal heavy duty, alkaline, or rechargeable

Our designs from hardware to software guarantee the best IR head tracking experience available.

The Monkey King and Joseph has up to 45% more viewing angle than the PS3 Eye. Up to 220 degrees of head sweep allows the use of profiles that more closely mimic natural head movement in your favorite sims.

The improved Puck and Odyssey along with the Monkey King or Joseph sensors have more pitch authority to look further up or down without the lights intersecting or freezing your in-game camera view.

Battery life for a single AA alkaline battery is 50hrs+ with our new 60Hz and 240Hz sensors. When a battery becomes too weak for the PS3 Eye to pick up the light from your LEDs. The Monkey King or Joseph will continue to see your LEDs for many hours longer.

There are no drivers to download. Monkey King and Joseph is plug & play. There are no gain, exposure, or color settings to modify. Simply mount the camera and plug it in to an available usb port. Start OpenTrack and select usb camera from the device list.

Monkey King has an industry leading 60DFOV @240Hz with an average latency of 14 milliseconds, which is more than twice as fast as the PS3 Eye, and camera panning response for Monkey King is nearly four times faster than the PS3 Eye.
