QUESTION: Will I see noticeably worse performance with the Monkey King than the Joseph II if used closer than 32″ from a monitor?
ANSWER: The 60Hz Joseph II sensor is optimized for sim pilots and drivers who sit close to their monitor, but want to enjoy all the range of motion that 240Hz sensor users enjoy that use wheels, yokes, and/or sim cockpits.
The 240Hz Monkey King sensor is optimized for natural motion mapping curves for sim drivers and pilots from 32″, up to and beyond the 48″ limitation of other tracking systems.
Sitting closer than 32” with the 240Hz Monkey King sensor may lose tracking when you lean in to look at your gauges, get up on the gun sight, or look down at the floor gauges. Your head and tracker may move out of the view window of the sensor and interrupt tracking.
This is less likely to happen at close range with driving and racing simulators.

The Monkey King has up to 45% more viewing angle than the PS3 Eye. Up to 220 degrees of head sweep allows the use of profiles that more closely mimic natural head movement in your favorite sims.

Battery life for a single AA alkaline battery is 50hrs+ with our new 240Hz sensor. When a battery becomes too weak for the PS3 Eye to pick up the light from your LEDs, Monkey King will continue to see your LEDs for many hours longer.
There are no drivers to download. Monkey King is plug & play. There are no gain, exposure, or color settings to modify. Simply mount the camera and plug it in to an available usb port. Start OpenTrack and select usb camera from the device list.
